Why are we doing this?

DI (Confederation of Danish Industry):
"Africa is the world's youngest continent with an enormous number of young people who can and want to work. There is plenty of labour in Africa. Depending on which skills you need, training may be required. But our analyzes indicate that in all areas there is clearly underutilized potential for Danish companies on the African continent", says Marie Gad from DI. - "Therefore, it makes a big difference when a company like Eryk helps to give the young people professional skills and a good job. Despite the many young people, there is a lack of professionally trained people in Africa, and this is a barrier to the development of companies. There are therefore many good reasons to participate in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Eryk's conference".

A part of the summit will be a celebration of the project's success. Eryk and Consulate General of Denmark in Lagos as well as all involved parties, will be celebrating graduation of first apprentices, who accomplished the program and became technicians. Below you can meet two of them:

Maurice Idemudia

„I have further solidified my interpersonal skills and abilities to function in a team that cuts across diverse cultural backgrounds. As for the technical aspect, I have learnt a lot about residential building installations, this was a whole new area for me when I joined Eryk” – says Maurice, one of Eryk’s Apprentice Program recent graduates who started working as a regular technician.

“In Eryk, I got the basic electrical knowledge, thanks to which I became interested in this profession.” – says Dominik, who is one of the first Polish technician, that has completed our Apprentice Program. So far, he has participated in many interesting projects, mainly in Denmark.
